Disability Discrimination

This page provides an introduction to the duties on schools not to discriminate against disabled pupils

Under the Equality Act 2010, disabled children have the right not to be discriminated against. Schools also have a duty to take reasonable steps to avoid disadvantage for these children.

if you feel that your disabled child has suffered discrimination, you can complain to the governors of the school. If you are not satisfied, you can then make a disability discrimination claim to the First-Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability).
