Exclusion Advocacy Pack

This pack is a resource for ACE members and copyright restrictions apply. As a taster you can download the contents page. Members should contact ACE at membership@ace-ed.org.uk for a free copy of the full pack.

Please remember to credit ACE and Save the Children if you use the pack externally. While ACE has made every effort to ensure the material was up to date at the time of writing (autumn 2007), please remember that law and guidance change frequently in this area and different interpretations of the law emerge from new court cases.

Affiliation

ACE is very proud of its association and work with Local Authorities and support of managers and officers working in education departments throughout England and Wales, many of which ACE has trained through our various seminar and bespoke training programmes.

Why should you become an affiliate member of ACE?
With our unrivalled feedback from parents and carers in need, ACE can help your mangers and officers across many areas of Children’s Services to deal with issues relating to education.  Becoming an affiliate member of ACE will help and support education managers and officers get the support and information to help enable them to do their jobs more effectively.

The affiliate scheme will help your local authority:

  • Keep up to date with the law in practice with AskACE, our quarterly magazine for those who advise support parents on education issues
  • Keep abreast of new publications, guidance and legal changes
  • Understand developments in equality legislation, the school framework and government policy with our advisers briefings and guides
  • Members only website (currently under construction)

  • Set of free publications

Cost

  • For smaller LA’s (up to 199 schools) £450
  • For medium-sized LA’s (200-399 schools) £550
  • For larger LA’s (400+ schools) £650

Membership

ACE is the only organisation that speaks directly to parents and carers on a full range of education issues.

Gives the parent and carer perspective to decision makers in local authorities and schools so their actions are informed by fairness and understanding.

Provides legal information in a practical context to those supporting and advising parents on education problems such as admissions, attendance, bullying, exclusions and special educational needs.

  • Individuals - £50
  • Groups/small organisations with an income under £500K - £69
  • Medium sized organisations with an income between £500k-£1m - £99
  • Large organisation with an income over £1m - £150
