Written in a straightforward accessible style and now used by more than 400 advisers in organisations across England and Wales, the Manuals provide step-by-step, legally correct advice on the main areas of schooling in which problems arise, including:

• Choosing and applying for a school
• Appealing for a school place
• Special educational needs, statutory assessment & the statementing process
• Exclusions
• Bullying
• Action when things go wrong
• Education of new arrivals
• Looked after children

The Step-by-Step adviser’s manual also provides an overview of the education system, explanations of jargon, legal references and suggestions for further reading.

The package is available in a range of ways to suit users’ needs. Prices below are given as a guide:

• Complete package for one person:  manuals and training - £750 + £36.75 VAT
• Manuals Alone - £485
• Annual subscription fee for legal updates - £55

Licensed Trainer Scheme

The Licensed Trainer Scheme (Train the Trainer) makes Education Step-by-Step available to many advisers at a low cost. 

Licensed trainers are professionals who already offer training in Education advice.

ACE provides:

• Two days of one-to-one training on the Education Step-by-Step manuals and how to train others to use them
• One day of observation and evaluation of the licensed trainer in action
• A back-up helpline for the licensed trainer and all advisers that they train
• Manuals for the Licensed Trainer
• Manuals for the advisers trained by the Licensed Trainer.

The licence is renewable annually.

The Licensed Trainer can be trained at their own offices or at ACE’s offices.

The trainer and those that they train will all be Registered Users with access to the Education Step-by-Step back-up line and all updates. All training will be evaluated.

Package Options:

• Licensed trainer plus 5 trainees - £2,496 + £110.25 VAT
• Licensed trainer plus 10 trainees - £3,746 + £110.25 VAT

Prices include updates for all registered users in the first year.

Travel expenses for ACE worker and where necessary an overnight stay will be added to the costs.

Updates for following years will be in the order of £55 per registered user.
